Need to know!
Second grade is a year full of new learning. A successful year starts with an open communication line between parents and teachers. Please feel free to email me ([email protected]) anytime you have questions or concerns. If you would like to schedule an appointment, you may do so during my planning period Monday-Friday. Also, with emails sent, please allow me until the end of the day to respond. Second grade is a busy year and I will not have much time to look through emails until the end of the day.
·Homework:
I do my best to keep the homework load in our class small each night. It is important for kids to have lots of outdoor play time and an opportunity to spend time with family as well as time to participate in extracurricular activities such as dance or basketball. Additionally, I will never send homework home over a weekend. On Mondays, a homework packet will be sent home with your child. This packet is due every Friday. In addition to this packet, please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes each night. Your child should not spend longer than 30 minutes on homework each night. If you are concerned about the amount of time your child is spending on homework each night, please let me know.
·Tuesday Folders:
As a school district, Cobb County utilizes the “Tuesday Folder” system. Important school-wide papers, graded papers, and county papers will typically be sent home on Tuesdays.
